Gratitude Wall

A space to honour the people whose support, encouragement, and belief helped bring Daisy & Goliath to life.

Dr. Darlene Reid

Naturopathic Doctor

I’m so glad my friend told me about you. I was skeptical since ND experiences years earlier had been disappointing. During my first visit we laughed when I asked what brought you to Saskatoon and you asked me what brought me to your office. “Word of mouth” was the answer to both. I enjoy your obvious intellect, extensive education, and relevant professional experience. However, it’s more than that. You listen quietly, discern different possibilities, and discuss treatment options. You validated that I had something going. Within the first visit you identified a health issue that has plagued me for at least 30 years. Within two weeks I knew I was on the right regime. Your up-front information prepared me for the 3-month haul. What I enjoy most about working with you, Dr. Reid, is your sincere desire to connect with the individual in the room. Collaborating with you has helped give me the physical energy and mental focus needed to build Daisy & Goliath. Thank you.

Jason & Valerie

CrossFit CL (150)

Jason and Valarie, I’m so glad you started StrongFitYXE which has evolved into CrossFit CL (150). I enjoy everything about this community: the coaches, the workouts, the people, the kids, the space. Val, I don’t know where your energy comes from. Can I buy some? There are lots of moving parts to running this gym and I appreciate all your talents that make it possible to work behind the scenes and remotely. Jason, you epitomize leadership. I appreciate how you have the technical expertise to coach raw beginners in a WOD all the way up to elite competitors in Olympic Weightlifting – often at the same time. When I started in 2017, I didn’t know if I’d make it through one session and now, I love the 90-minute version. You and your coaches continually present opportunities for me to grow, in many more ways than mere fitness. Thanks Jason and Valarie, you are a big part of why I’m at the Daisy & Goliath starting line.

Leslie Ann Wagner

B.Sc.N., B.Admin

Leslie Ann, I could write pages about you. Some of it would incriminate both of us, so let me just say that I'm glad that I started hanging out with you when I was thirteen. Of course, you're a couple of years older than me, and that came in handy for driving legally and pulling beer. What fun we had as we grew from parties and boyfriends to weddings and babies to careers and bucket lists! If I could choose only one word to describe you, compassionate and optimistic would tie for first place. Another word is ambition. Grass has never grown under your feet. Add in intelligent, funny, and down to earth. You continue to inspire me and others with visions of possibilities. As the past twelve months have unfolded, your encouragement to remain focused on my vision has been instrumental in bringing Daisy & Goliath to life. The world needs more like you. I’m grateful to call you friend.

Melissa Pederson

Fellow Weight Lifter

Melissa, you rally the troops better than anybody I've ever known. I am so glad that you were part of Jason Trihn's startup gym in the autumn of 2016. At the time, it was called StrongFit YXE; now its named CrossFit CL (150). Thank goodness you convinced Megan, one of your long-time friends, to join you in the adventure. Megan gave me bare bones information and since I was new to the city, I went exploring one day and found StrongFit YXE. One step inside the gym, I met great people and signed up. It is because of you, Megan, and our community of lifters, that I am learning Olympic Weightlifting. I hope to see you at the next competition. You are a shining example of possibility thinking – with a smile and a laugh.

When I first walked into your office, I was on a mission to heal NOW. Other modalities had run their natural course of effectiveness, and I had heard of extracorporeal shock wave therapy. Your front office promised I could begin shock wave treatments on the first visit. Dare I confess? When I saw your petit stature and heard your mild demeanor, I doubted if we would be a “fit.” About fifteen minutes later, the opposite became obvious. No wonder: you’re a farm girl who played lacrosse in a small town. The depth of your subject matter expertise showed more as issues unfolded. We called it peeling the onion. You saw me through two new injuries and knew exactly which specialist to refer me to. One statement sticks most with me. You said, “What you do is more important than what I do.” How empowering is that? You are a straight shooter with a soft touch. Thank you.

Robin Diehl, RMT

Advanced Therapy

Thank you, Robin for doing what you do and being who you are. Before I knew of you, your friend and I had talked about innovative technologies to rehab old injuries. Thank goodness she insisted that what you had was unique. At the time, my self-talk minimized the information, but events synchronized and we met. I enjoy working with you for many reasons. First, I noticed how intelligent and how humble you are. Your technical knowledge exceeds the credentials on your wall. You have a three-dimensional vision that can pinpoint the main areas that need the most attention. Beyond your subject matter expertise, I appreciate your wisdom. Your world view is a breath of fresh air. I come away refreshed, invigorated and so glad we met. Thank you for all you’ve done to help me create and launch Daisy & Goliath.

Word of mouth is the best. That’s how I found you, your vast knowledge, and your intuitive touch. You were the first massage therapist who knew how to identify and prioritize my problem areas. (By the time I found you, I had several!) Your expertise in choosing and using exactly the best method at the right time in the ideal proportions produced breakthroughs beyond what I thought was possible. And I loved the flow of information that came with every visit. I’m not sure if you tired of my questions, but I never tired of learning from you. Thank you for all you did in the time we worked together.
